Biography

Dr. Mehrtash Motamedi, P.Eng. is Research Associate and Engineering Manager at the Department of Civil Engineering. He is an expert in seismic design and retrofitting of structures, and has 15 years of experience in experimental research projects in Earthquake and Structural Engineering area.

Dr. Motamedi joined the Department of Civil Engineering in 2007 as Postdoctoral Research Fellow and started working as research associate in 2012. He currently manages the EERF research facility and commercial testing projects in the Earthquake and Structures Laboratories. His focus is mainly on shake table and field ambient vibration tests.

Research Interests

Seismic design and retrofitting of structures, structural seismic health monitoring, experimental studies, shake table and field vibration tests, base isolation and energy dissipating systems, masonry buildings.
